Shock as man found dead in yard at Dolphin Heads in Mackay, Queensland
A man has been found dead in the yard of a home in a beachside Queensland town.
The 56-year-old was found unresponsive after police and emergency services were called to the Ian Wood Drive home just after 3pm on Thursday.
The officers were responding to a welfare check request and found the man in the yard of the Dolphin Heads property.
He was declared dead at the scene.
Dolphin Heads is a small northern suburb in Mackay, about 400km south of Townsville.
A crime scene has been declared and police are investigating the man's death.
